Terms of use and privacy policy

Summary
- Scanning documents and ID cards on scanonlinepdf.com is free and needs no account.
- Images and PDF files are processed on your phone or computer, never uploaded to our servers and never stored.
- We use no advertising cookies and do not sell data.
1. Service
Scan Online PDF offers an online document scanner and a two-sided ID card scanner that run in your browser. By using them you agree to these terms.
2. Your documents and images
All processing (detection, cropping, cleaning, layout, PDF creation) happens on your device. Images, ID card photos and PDF files are not uploaded to our servers and are not stored. Closing the page clears them from browser memory. If you install the tool as an app, the browser stores the interface and libraries for offline use, not your images.
3. Technical data
Our hosting provider (Netlify) may keep basic access logs such as IP address, time and browser type for operation and security. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and the PDF library from cdnjs, which receive your IP address as with any website. We use no advertising cookies and do not sell data.
4. Messages sent through the Help page
When you send a question through the form on the Help & support page, your message and email address are stored on Netlify so we can reply. We use them only to help you and do not share them.
5. Your responsibilities
Only scan documents and cards you are entitled to use and copy. Do not use the tool to forge or alter documents or for any unlawful purpose. Check your scans before submitting them; a scan does not replace a certified copy where one is required.
6. Limitation of liability
The tool is provided free of charge and as is. We do our best to keep it reliable and accurate but cannot guarantee results in every case and are not liable for damages arising from the use of scans.
7. Changes
These terms may be updated. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page; continuing to use the tool means you accept the updated terms.
